Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair hospitalized with 'tough medical issues,' rep asks for prayers

WWE wrestling legend Ric "Nature Boy" Flair was hospitalized over the weekend with "tough medical issues," according to what a member of his management team posted on Twitter.
Wrestling industry news site Pro Wrestling Sheet and other media outlets reported that Flair was hospitalized with heart-related issues.
A rep initially confirmed that Flair was in the hospital, but said it was due to "routine monitoring" and that there was "no reason to panic." On Sunday, that rep took a more worried tone.
"Are u a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair? If so, we need prayers & positive energy 4 our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues," wrote Melinda Morris Zanoni, part of Flair's management team at Legacy Talent and Entertainment, on Twitter and Facebook.
Flair, 68, is a resident of Charlotte, N.C.
The Charlotte Observer reported that Flair had a previous health scare in December 1998, "when he slumped in the corner of a wrestling ring prior to a World Championship Wrestling event in Tampa," but it turned out "the numbness in his left arm and chest spasms were not due to a heart attack."
Flair was in Florida on July 28 to throw out the first pitch at Marlins Park in Miami before a baseball game there as part of a "wrestling night" promotion.
An ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on Flair's life is set to premiere on Nov. 7.
